Aphrodite’s Love

Taking influence from Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, this design focuses on her symbol of the rose – legend has it that when the goddess was born from the sea, roses sprung from the sand as she stepped ashore. The pattern was created using photography and digital manipulation, to give the illusion of roses submerged underwater. The flowers appear distorted and abstracted, in an original and highly contemporary take on a classic rose print. Aphrodite’s Love is part of the Oceans story of our Autumn/Winter 2023 collection – featuring designs that draw us deep down into a glittering underwater kingdom of wine-dark waters inhabited by powerful mythological beings.
